SOS Thailand is pleased to announce yet another piece of evidence of our determination in tackling surplus food issues! ð We have received 2 awards âĻ from crQlr Awards. âcrQlrâ is a global consortium from Japan that encourages and promotes practitioners and advocates for a new society grounded on a circular economy! âŧïļ
.
The crQlr Awards are international awards that welcome a wide range of entries from the established major scale campaigns to concepts and designs in the preparation stage. Over 204 projects were sent to crQlr Awards from 24 countries worldwide. ð
.
The awards aim to catalyze 3 primary changes in how we live:
1. Economy: from linear to circular
-Using technology to support and boost recycling practices
2. Society: from consumption to regenerate
-Shifting the main activity from depleting our resources to recreating alternatives
3. Industry: from closed to open
-Open for other companies as partners to share their innovation
.
The Food Rescue Programme by SOS Thailand won 2 awards from the contest which are âCommunity Design Prizeâ and âFood Impact Prizeâð and we are amongst 3 winners from Thailand.
.
The Food Rescue Programme revolves around ârescuingâ surplus food from our partners in food-related businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and other suppliers then âreallocatingâ them to impoverished or underprivileged communities in Thailand. ðĪē ðĻâðĐâð§âð§ SOS Thailand has been pioneering this system since 2016 and we will continue to expand our impact and extend our aid to more people.
.
The crQlr Awards are given as a sign of recognition for action not praise for frame ðŠ It is a free space that allows creative thinkers and new eco-friendly ideas to flourish ð· And it is high time that we should earnestly preserve the Earth and sustain our resources.
