SOS Phuket was Granted a New Truck from the Embassy of Australia in Thailand

We welcomed H.E., Mr. Allan McKinnon PSM, the Australian Ambassador to Thailand, Mr. Matthew Barclay, the Consul-General, Australian Consulate-General Phuket, Thailand, and the Australian Embassy, Thailand Team to Scholars of Sustenance Foundation Phuket, Thailand last month!

.

Such an honor for SOS to meet and with the Australian Embassy team! We have received a fund from the Australian embassy to purchase a new truck.

.

SOS Phuket only had one truck for the Food Rescue Program which is not enough for collecting surplus food from our donors. Mr. Allan McKinnon recognizes that surplus food can be distributed to communities in need and at the same time, this operation serves hugely in reducing food waste.

.

We are very grateful that the Ambassador, the Australian Consulate-General Phuket, and the Australian Embassy team have paid us a visit. This grant enables SOS Phuket to rescue more food and transport them to wider areas around Phuket island and neighboring provinces.

.

This aid would not have been possible without the help of One Phuket, our good partner who assisted us in applying for the grant. SOS Phuket eagerly looks forward to future collaborations with the Australian Embassy. Thank you very much.
