SOS Food Rescued Program Supports Wat Khao Lan Thom Community in Hua Hin

Wat Khao Lan Thom Community is a community governed by Huahin Municipality that has no official population census but is estimated to have around 80 families and 320 individuals.

.

This lack of clarity results from how most of the locals there are just daily-wage workers, which makes them unable to receive enough help from government services. Their already struggling situation was even more worsened by the Covid-19 Pandemic, which caused locals to lose jobs and make them unable to access proper meals, resulting in malnutrition. In addition, despite the majority of them not yet vaccinated, they still have to live in a very packed area. Other than this, there are many others in the community with severe health conditions and also those that have immigrated from foreign countries, which makes it even more difficult for governmental support.

.

Taking that into consideration, SOS then decided to contact the locals' leader and inform them about our sincere intention to help those that are in need. Fortunately, they accepted our helping hands. Last week, through the Food Rescue Program, we were able to successfully organize our distribution with a total of 119.30 kilograms of food. 💚 Without any problems, people in Wat Khao Lan Thom Community happily received our supplies! We hope that this would help alleviate their struggling situations, especially during these times of the pandemic.

.

There are still many other communities in need of our help and because we would like to support them by any means we could, we also need your help. The SOS organization encourages everyone to help contribute to donations and volunteers since numerous people and communities are in need of our help and have been heavily affected by the pandemic. And remember every little action matters.
