Run Phuket for SOS & One Phuket

This Solo Running campaign organized by One Phuket aims to support Scholars of Sustenance by raising funds which are desperately needed to help thousands of vulnerable people in Phuket during this difficult time.

On 20th June 2021, Mark Gillett, A British adventure runner based in Phuket, will be running the entire length of Phuket, from Promthep Cape at the southernmost point to Sarasin bridge in the north. The run will cover 70km of hilly coastal roads and Mark will traverse sandy beaches along the west side of the island for 9 hours. Please follow and support Mark Gillett's charitable adventure. The Challenge

The challenge for Mark on this cause is to run from northern most to southern most part of Phuket Island, covering the entire beautiful west coast of Phuket (which would normally be teeming with tourists but is currently a deserted ghost town). The first 35 Km are covering with hilly coast road, passing tourist hotspots, Nai Harn, Patong and Kamala. From Bang tao onwards, Mark will find himself running on Phuket’s famous beaches, including passing the airport flight path where so many people go for spectacular photos under the landing planes.

During this challenge, Mark intends to use no single use plastic at ALL!!!

This is Mark’s longest run ever in his record. Currently his longest ever run is 46km, Phuket run will be 150% of that distance. Adding in the hills, sand, high temperatures and humidity, Mark is hoping to complete the run in under 9 hours, however his primary goals are to complete the challenge and raise as much money for the causes as he can. How can you support?
