MGR Online Amplified the Food Rescue Journey and Impact of SOS Thailand Team

“The food that the SOS Foundation brought to help us a lot. For example, this vegetable is taken to make a big pot of soup which can be eaten for many meals. Especially during this Covid-19 crisis, it really helps a lot.” - This is the voice from the representative of Makkasan Community while they were helping to distribute the donated fresh vegetables, fruits, from the SOS 's truck to the community.

Every day we have a large amount of surplus food caused by overproduction. Food from buffet lines, restaurants, unattractive fruits and vegetables, canned food, and frozen foods that have been removed from supermarket shelves by department store standards, even if they haven't expired.

According to a report by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), up to a third of food is wasted worldwide each year. At the same time, there is an increasing number of people who extremely lack access to food every year.

This is why SOS Thailand comes in - We want to improve food equity in Thailand by solving the food waste problem at the same time.
