OmniFoods, owned by Green Monday Holdings, donated about 1,000 cartons of Omni Luncheon, which was equivalent to 3,840kg to SOS Bangkok, Omni Luncheon is considered one of their best selling high-quality plant-based meat, so they wanted the non-profit organizations like SOS to distribute to the underprivileged people in Thailand to help them cope with the pandemic.
.
SOS was able to distribute 16,000 delicious meals such as Omni Luncheon Stir-Fried Thai Basil and Omni Luncheon Deep Fried with Yellow Curry to more than 124 communities in Bangkok, Pathum. The characteristics of the communities were mostly slum areas, low-income, underprivileged, remote, and some were refugee residences.
.
At the same time, we also took the opportunity to educate the recipients on the benefits of consuming plant-based meat and adopting a plant-based lifestyle rather than consuming real meat as real meat production contributes to a huge environmental impact and also understand the question of ethicalness.
.
It was such a great experience collaborating with other NGO and receiving food donations from Asia’s leading Food Tech Company: Green Monday and OmniFoods. SOS Thailand will keep inspiring people and will keep making their lives better and better without having to worry about their food security.
