A Year of Wonderful Partnership a Start And an End

‘Every sunrise gives you a new beginning and a new ending’

.

It has been about six months that we have collaborated with Sang Foundation to establish SOS in Hua Hin, our third food rescue operating location in Thailand in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Without Sang's initiative, this expansion would not happen. We continue to commend our mutual passion for helping people, and their care for the people of Hua Hin which really convinced SOS to strike the partnership with Sang Foundation at the beginning.

.

And then the time has come, SOS and Sang Foundation have mutually decided to work separately to help different communities on our own since our foundations are established in different advocacies. SOS advocates eliminating food waste while Sang advocates eliminating plastic waste. In the beginning, we agreed with the partnership because we acknowledged the zero-conflict on food programs in Hua Hin. However, with the recent food program being done by Sang Foundation in Hua Hin which is an amazing work too, we recognize the confusion it can potentially bring to the public between Sang and SOS when it comes to donations. This led us to a decision to go on separate ways and allow each other to operate on their own to avoid any confusion.

.

Thinking back, SOS Hua Hin used to be a small and unknown foundation, because we were so new in the area. Sang Foundation’s fundraising effort, sharing of contacts, and helping to find ways on how to promote SOS in the province - were really big parts of how SOS Hua Hin became today. All the small and big ways Sang Foundation has helped us, we will continue to honor. Sang Foundation will always be part of the history of SOS Hua Hin, and we will continue to speak of their great contributions. We wish nothing but the best for the Sang Foundation. Thank you for being such an important part of our SOS Hua Hin journey!

.

Now it’s time for us to build a strong legitimate Food Rescue Foundation in Hua Hin on our own to help more people as we always do. We are pleased to inform everyone that after operating for 6 months, we were able to distribute 90,000 meals already in different low-income communities in Hua Hin & Cha-Am, public schools, migrant people, and other organizations. We have onboarded a few retail companies, convenience stores, hotels, and restaurants in providing us with good quality surplus food for the people. It was a very challenging 6 months but with pure determination to eliminate food waste in the city/province and address food insecurity, we made it all happen. Thanks to our hard-working Food Rescue Hero Ton who never stopped making all these happen.

.

Please continue to support the work we have started and help us achieve our mission. Help us help people!
